Unintentionally swallowing a few match tips is not dangerous but would be expected to cause some minor irritation to the mouth and stomach. Swallowing a large number of matches can cause serious effects including damage to red blood cells and organs such as the kidneys and liver. Matches are made from small sticks of wood or cardboard coated on one tip with ignitable materials. The match tip is struck across a suitable surface to ignite the match. Typically, matches are packaged in books of 20 cardboard sticks or boxes containing varying quantities of wooden sticks. The two main classifications, based on the required strike surface, are strike-anywhere matches sometimes called friction matches and safety matches sometimes called strike-on-box matches.
40 Surreal Red-Haired Actresses
And when you meet a red head with blue eyes, you are looking at the rarest colour combination of all for human beings. Around 17 per cent of people have blue eyes, and when combined with per cent having red hair , the odds of having both traits are around 0. The reason these looks are so unusual is because they are the result of two different sets of DNA instructions, or mutations, happening in the same person, explains Professor Mark Elgar, an evolutionary biologist from the University of Melbourne.
This looks a most interesting book. I am not a redhead but have on occasion become one, and been endlessly interested in how red hair has been seen through the eyes of artists and history. Like you find red haired men attractive too. I have a weakness for a redhead, hence the russet-y Mr Walker, who is the least hot-tempered person I know!
